Create Connection

A Connection specifies the parameters needed to connect to where your data is located. When you select a Connection type, you are prompted to provide the necessary parameters to connect to that location. 

To create a connection:

  1. Navigate to the Connections overview page from the menu on the left of the screen.
  2. Click CREATE NEW CONNECTION at the top of the Connections page.
  3. Enter a name to identify the Connection and select a Connection type from the list.
  4. You are prompted to enter details based on the Connection type.
      
  5. Click TEST CONNECTION to ensure the Connection can be made successfully.
    If the connection was successful, a conformation message will appear.

    If the connection was unsuccessful, an error message will appear with the reason for failure.
  6. Click OK to complete creating a connection.

Distributed File System

A distributed file system (DFS) is a file system with data stored on a server.

The data is accessed and processed as if it was stored on the local client machine.

Email (IMAP)

Is a mail protocol used for accessing email on a remote web server.

Enter the following:

  • Host
  • Port
  • Protocol: SMTP, SMTPS, IMAP, IMAPS
  • Username and Password
Email (SMTP)

Is the server that handles the email delivery process.

Enter the following:

  • Host
  • Port
  • Protocol: SMTP, SMTPS, IMAP, IMAPS
  • Username and Password
Exchange Server (EWS)

Is an application program interface (API) that allows programmers to access Microsoft Exchange items such as calendars, contacts, and email.

Enter the following:

  • Exchange server URL
  • Exchange server type: Exchange 2007SP1, Exchange 2010 (includes SP 1 and 2),

  • Mail box access mode: Self, Impersonate
Google

Google email account

  • Client Id

HSQL

Is a relational database management system written in Java.

Enter the following:

JMS

Java Messaging Service

Enter the following:

  • Username and password

Local File System

A file system stored on a local data storage device, such as the client machine.

  • Enter a file path to the file.
Mongo DB

A cross-platform document-oriented database program classified as a NoSQL database program. MongoDB uses JSON-like documents with schemata.

An open-source relational database management system.

Persisted Distributed File System

Is a customer relationship management (CRM) platform.

  • Click Sign in with Salesforce and provide your Salesforce credentials.
