Insights Metrics

Hero_Insights has multiple options to visually display data coming from Flows.  

Requirements

Data visualizations are built from metric data sets which are created by Metrics Outputs in a Flow.

Required:

Create a New Insights Dashboard

To create a new Insights dashboard:

  1. Select the Insights overview page from the menu on the left of the screen.
  2. Click New Dashboard at the top of the screen.
  3. Enter a name for the Insights dashboard and click OK.
  4. An empty Insights dashboard is displayed.
  5. Click Add Widget to begin creating visual charts from Flow data.

Metrics Widgets

  • Area Chart
  • Bar Chart
  • Categorical Area Chart
  • Categorical Bar Chart
  • Categorical Donut Chart
  • Categorical Line Chart
  • Donut Chart
  • Line Chart

Using Widgets

To use a widget in Insights:

  1. Click Add Widget at the top of the screen.
  2. Select a widget from the list and click OK.
  3. Fill in the widget configuration settings.

    • Categorical
      • Widget name
      • Select a metric set
      • Category

    • Non-categorical
      • Widget name
      • Select a metric set
      • X-axis value
      • Aggregation group for x-axis
      • Y-axis category
      • Aggregation group for y-axis


  4. Click OK to complete the data visualization. 


Interact with Widgets

Left-click a widget to highlight a specific section of the widget.

Right-click a widget to bring up the widget menu.

  • Select Remove Widget to delete the widget from the board.

Work with Boards

By default, a single untitled board is available when creating a new Insights dashboard. 

There is no limit of how many widgets can be used on single board. Creating additional boards makes viewing the multiple charts more convenient. 

Clone

Create a copy of an existing board:

  1. Right-click the board name.
  2. Click Clone.

Rename

Name an existing board:

  1. Right-click the board name.
  2. Click Rename.
  3. Enter a name for the board.
  4. Click OK.

Delete

Delete a board from the Insights dashboard:

  1. Right-click the board name.
  2. Click Delete.

Add a New Board

Create additional boards in the Insights dashboard:

  1. Click + Add Board.
  2. Enter a name for the board.
  3. Click OK.

Dashboard and Widget Configuration Settings

The dashboard and widget configuration settings are located on the right side of the dashboard screen.

Dashboard

Displays the name of the dashboard.

Widget

Configuration settings for individual widgets.

Configure a widget's:

  • Name
  • Color scheme
  • Decimal precision
  • Toggle tooltips
  • Toggle the legend

To configure a widget:

  1. Click on Widget from the configuration settings menu.
  2. Click the widget to configure on the right side of the board.
  3. The widget configuration settings are displayed.

Filter

Configuration settings for global and local filters on the Insights dashboard to refine what information widgets display.

To configure filters:

  1. Click on Filter from the configuration settings menu.
  2. Select the filter type:
    1. Global filter to create or edit a filter for every widget on the dashboard.
    2. Local filter to create or edit a filter for a specific widget on the dashboard

  3. Configure the filter.
